2018 Brabus S63 - 700HP!
BRABUS lends the facelift generation of the S 63 a much sportier look. To this end, the BRABUS designers developed tailor-made raw carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components. The front receives a dynamic design with the BRABUS carbon fiber front spoiler lip and carbon front bumper attachments. The shape of the carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components were optimized in the wind tunnel to reduce front axle lift as well, which at high speeds contributes to further improved handling stability. The front fenders on either side are upgraded with a raw carbon fiber BRABUS design element. The integrated BRABUS logo is optionally available in an illuminated version and is then activated by operating the remote or by pulling on a door handle. The LEDs integrated into the underside of the BRABUS rocker panels will also light up.
The underbody lighting makes it safer to approach the car in the dark and helps avoid stepping into a pothole or puddle. Also backlit – optionally with changing colors – are the BRABUS stainless scuff plates for all four doors. The BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement concept is rounded off with the BRABUS rear bumper with integrated raw carbon fiber diffuser and tailor-made cutouts for the BRABUS sport exhaust system, as well as the carbon rear spoiler.
Bespoke Forged Wheels
The outstanding traits of the BRABUS Monoblock wheels, available for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class with diameters ranging from 18 to 22 inches, are thrilling design, maximum quality and further enhanced driving dynamics. The vehicle on display at the IAA 2017 shows two different designs, the BRABUS Monoblock F cross-spoke styling and the Monoblock Y design with spokes that taper off towards the outer rim flange in the shape of a ‘Y.’ The use of state-of-the-art forging technology in the manufacture of these wheels makes the BRABUS Monoblock "PLATINUM EDITION" hi-tech wheels especially light and at the same time gives them maximum strength. Alternatively, the S63 can be fitted with BRABUS Monoblock R or G forged wheels.
High Performance Engine Tuning
The switch over of the S 63 to the turbocharged V8 with a displacement of 3,982 cc presented the power unit engineers of BRABUS with the task of developing an efficient performance upgrade for the new engine. They used extensive tests on state-of-the-art test benches and on the road to develop new mapping for injection and ignition, and also reprogrammed the electronic boost pressure control. They introduced the electronic engine control unit to a plug-and-play auxiliary control unit. With a power output of 700 HP at a low 6,100 rpm and a peak torque of 701 lb-ft at a low 3,500 rpm, the four-door car sprints from rest to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds. The top speed is 186 mph. A BRABUS Vmax module will make higher top speeds available and is already under development.
Tailor-Made Leather Interiors
BRABUS's tuning program includes the opportunity to add an exquisite BRABUS fine leather interior package. The interior appointments are tailored to customer specifications from a combination of especially soft and breathable Mastik leather and Alcantara. The range of colors is virtually endless and the designers in Bottrop are also able to fulfill any special requests regarding the upholstery design. The S63 debuted at the IAA was transformed using especially soft and breathable black Mastik leather, gray and red decorative stitching, genuine carbon elements in the sporty ‘Checkered Flag’ design. In addition, there are tailor-made aluminum components such as the BRABUS RACE paddle shifters, pedals and door pins.
