More From Akrapovič:

The new Titanium Muffler with Tailpipe Set (Titanium/CMC)* for the Porsche 911 GT3 / GT3 RS (992) is derived directly from the technology and engineering innovation we have collected from our involvement in the racing world, making it one of Akrapovič’s most innovative products.

Constructed from lightweight, high-grade titanium and then sandblasted and coated for durability, this exhaust system has complex parts, such as the housing of the exhaust valves and the collectors inside the muffler, which were cast in our own in-house foundry. It has been created through years of evolutionary development and manufacturing of aftermarket exhaust systems for various Porsche 911 models from the 996 series onward. With our immersive involvement in the racing world, including knowledge gathered from the 2008 victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours on the legendary Nordschleife with Manthey-Racing’s Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, we have developed this limited-edition exhaust system that is intended for use on closed-course competition circuits only due to its racetrack-oriented package and heritage.

Akrapovic GT3 RS

Limited to just 50 exclusive pieces, each one of these special exhaust systems has been laser engraved on the bottom part of the muffler with its own number to show its authenticity. However, this system is more than just a collector’s piece. It is a fully functioning performance part that is also perfectly at home on the racetracks of the world. Power and torque levels are increased by 6.5 kW (8.8 hp) at 2,900 rpm and 24.1 Nm at 2,400 rpm, respectively, when tested on the Akrapovič dyno against a Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) with a standard stock exhaust. Its use of lightweight materials has reduced weight by 31% (12.2 kg) against the standard stock system, and a stunning soundtrack is supplied through valves that have been tailored to produce a smooth, rich tone at normal cruising and a sporty sound experience at higher revs, serving up an aural delight for all. The most visible part of the exhaust is its tailpipes, and our engineers have paid particular attention to detail to create a visual impact befitting the rarity of this system. This new design uses the latest technology and is a combination of a 3D printed and sandblasted titanium inner shell, finished with an outer sleeve made using CMC (ceramic matrix composite). This material is approximately 50% lighter than titanium and is used in extreme racing and aerospace to provide solutions to control intense temperatures due to its special properties. It can withstand intensely high peak temperatures of 1,000 °C, making it perfect for the hot gases emitted from the exhaust and engine. The inner shell of the tailpipes features six individual fins to match the six-cylinder engine, and the section joining both tailpipes has an Akrapovič logo embossed on it. These unique characteristics, added to the use of CMC alongside the engraved logo and the limited-edition number, provide an impactful appearance that confirms the system’s technological and racing heritage, as well as its rarity. No remapping of the ECU is required, and this product fits on cars with and without petrol particulate filters. For correct installation, this exhaust system must be combined either with our Slip-On Race Line Adapter Set (SS) or with our Evolution Header Set (Titanium).
